Werewolves, like vampires, are creatures that came into being as the result of a curse.
According to the legend, a hunter was hunting wolves for their pelts and killed the mate of the wolf god while she was in wolf form. Enraged, the wolf god cursed the hunter by turning him into a creature who could shift into wolf form at will, but HAD to change at the full of the moon.
No spell, or potion was ever able to cure the hunter, and to his dismay he also passed the curse on to his descendants, along with anyone he bit while in wolf form.
Werewolves can be either good or evil, just like any other creature, but they have a stronger pull towards the evil side than other creatures of the night do.
Werewolves have the powers of their animal species plus those of other shapeshifters.
