What is a Hunter?
A Hunter is typically a human who by some fate discovered the Night Breeds and chose to “hunt” the creatures . They are mortals but as hunters they do gain skills of the trade through their experiences.
How Does a Person’s life change after becoming a Hunter?
Imagine living a normal life one day and then discovering that vampires, witches and shapeshifters live among us. Many Hunters become paranoid, mentally unstable while some become angry and violent vigilantes. In most cases, Hunters never return to their normal lives. Many make a living at what they do, getting paid by various sources to slay and destroy the creatures. Some just do it as a service to society but in all cases they live a very private life. Hunters look like any other person they rarely dress in body armor suits. Many do carry various forms of weaponry, from stakes and swords to guns and other equipment which they usually conceal on their body.
What Skills does a Hunter Have?
Humans who become Hunters still retain their human mortality but as they become more experienced they gain adept skills.
Enhanced Senses (hearing, sight, movements, even smells}
Strength (Hunters are usually very strong, most exercise/train daily)
Reflexes (Hunters are very fast)
Crafts and Connections (Most hunters are adept at crafting make-shift weapons and they are valuable customers for back-alley dealers of oddities like stakes and silver bullets)
With a Hunter’s skills come their weaknesses and flaws.
Solitary (The Hunter is usually alone in much of his crusade, many prefer to hunt alone though)
Marked (Once a Hunter kills a Night Breed he is “marked” as a Hunter and becomes a threat to all Night Breeds which ultimately makes him/her a target.
