Caedyona started in on another mouthful of salad before answering, swallowing the bite almost before it had been chewed. Her tone was light, but thoughtful, "Well, I don't know, really. I feel as though there's something important that I should be remembering, but I can't seem to focus on it right now." She smiled uneasily and let her eyes shift from Leo to Lily Rose, afraid to ask what it was that was bothering them.
Instead, she continued devouring the salad, until there was nothing left but empty bowl, and set it delicately on the table, still watching the other two. "I think...that something's happened, hasn't it? But I really don't know..." The edges of her vision blurred, and she focused harder on the two before her, she didn't know what that was, but she also wasn't sure she wanted to. At the moment, she was thinking that the monster under the bed was better off left alone, ignored, because then it might not be a real monster. She didn't know why she was equating this odd blur with a monster under the bed, but also didn't want to explore the idea too much, so she continued talking, trying to cover the slight lapse, "And I'm not sure that I want to know, right now." She smiled, almost brightly, and continued, "So, I'm going to say that there's nothing bothering me right now, and I'm not sick...or at least, I don't feel ill...so, I think I'll go get more salad!" She ended the sentence in a bright and unconcerned tone, hoping that they didn't argue it too much...if they did, she might start worrying again, and that might lead to her finding the monster under the bed again. Her thoughts had already worked through that line of thought, although she was trying to prevent them from completeing it. Shivering just slightly, she pulled the blanket up and wrapped it around her shoulders, querying lightly, "What happened to the blanket? It's all...damp on this edge?"

Lily scratched her head and flicked a look at Leo before she tried to answer Dyona. "Er.............ah well you seem to have been having an adventure all of your own Dyona and we were hoping you would let us join in!" She tried to say this brightly, as though it was of no importance, but her voice quavered slightly. Aware of this, she stopped speaking and frowned. "Er..........ah well, I'll go and get you some more salad if you're still hungry," she offered and hurried from the room before Leo could stop her.

Leo frowned at Lily's back as she almost ran from the room. Thanks a bunch Lily! He went to a cupboard and took out another blanket. "Here's a fresh one," he said, taking the chewed one away. He threw it in a basket nearby. Taking a deep breath, he draped the new, sweet smelling blanket around Dyona's shoulders and sat on the bed beside her. "My love, don't you remember anything about the last few days? You left the castle without saying anything to anyone and we were really worried about you. When we found you, you were acting um..... a bit oddly." He smiled to ease her worry. "It was like when you change at sunrise, except your body stayed as it was. Which is just as well," he rushed on," or we never would have found you!" He hugged her to him, afraid of what he would find out. If her curse was evolving into something else he didn't know how he would be able to help her. "Look at the soles of your feet and your knees. They're dirty because you were crawling around on them. The soggy blanket? You were chewing it because you thought you were a sheep and were hungry!" He looked at her closely. "Don't you remember anything?"

Caedyona watched Lily almost run out with the bowl, and then turned curious eyes to Leo. She wanted to ask what that was about, but he was already offering her a fresh blanket and she took it slowly, watching his reaction to the events closely. Acting oddly? No, that didn't ring a bell...or did it. She started trying to remember exactly what she had been doing the last few days...and everything started to blur around her. Leaning back against the stark bed behind her, she put one hand to her head as she tried to slow her thoughts.
"I remember...something..." Dyona whispered as she focused her thoughts through the fuzziness that was threatening her. "But what exactly that is..." She shook her head, her eyes closing as the swirling around her drew her in. She was a sheep? No...back further...a caterpillar...no, before that. Back and back again, she tried to remember just where everything had started. Almost...almost there, she thought as she remembered dancing under the leaves of her tree, her brother joining her as they celebrated the beginning of a new season. And suddenly, vividly, it was there, the poison in the well, but not the well. Someplace in between...maybe. She'd have to go back, to check. But not now, not when everything was blurring, her past becoming her present, her future becoming her past. She felt like she was falling, and put out her hands to stop, but couldn't feel the bed behind her, the floor beneath her feet.
Unable to open her eyes for fear of what she'd see, she croaked past the lump in her throat, "Leo? I don't know...it's there...but beyond what I can see right now. Something at the Edge. But the blur...I can't...I can't see beyond it." Dyona fought the urge to pass out, or worse, to let it draw her back into some other that wasn't true...

Leo held Dyona close. "Hush now a ghra, don't force it. Relax and rest. Maybe you will remember more when you are calmer and more rested." He stroked her hair and rocked her gently. He could sense her gradually relaxing and he whispered to her, telling her he loved her and that when she was feeling well enough they would marry. He described the wedding he envisioned, with just the family members and dear friends that could make it. He told her about the special place by the ocean where he would like to take her once they were wed. "It will be alright a chailin mo chroi, we'll work it out, you'll see." All the while he gently rocked her as a mother would her crying infant. He loved this beautiful, complicated and loving elf with all that he had. He felt his heart swell with all the love he had for her. It had to be alright. It just had to be.

Dyona let herself relax into Leo's strong arms, feeling the safety and assurance that he was projecting to her. She felt her breathing ease, and the spinning blur fade away. She let him paint the picture of their wedding in her mind, instead, and smiled slowly, until everything was back to the way it had been before she had tried so hard to understand and remember what was happening to her. As a slow sigh released from her, she queried, "Leo...what's going on with me? I don't understand it...I know that it's different, but I don't understand how..." Sitting up slowly, she snuggled back into his arms, holding his hand around her waist as she did so, and leaning back against him. She was groggy, dirty, and still had the faint aftertaste of grass and blanket on her tongue, but she was starting to feel more like herself.

" I wish I knew my love," Leo replied, holding Dyona close. "It seems like something has happened to change the curse on you. You were elven in shape but an animal in thought. A hungry sheep I would guess, by the way you chewed the blanket!" He smiled at her with a twinkle in his eye, hoping to ease the fear she felt. That they both felt. "But how it was done is beyond my understanding. I think that when you are feeling better, we should go to your brother to see if he can help."
