Dyona opened her eyes, realizing she was in a room that she hadn't been in before. Sitting up slowly, she put one hand to her head, holding it still until the room quit spinning. Her voice was a flutter on the air, "Oh...that took more out of me than I thought it would...just coming this far from my tree." The hungry look she threw to Leo was barely restrained in it's voracity, and she shook her head quickly, darting a glance around the room, but barely taking it in. Her eyes were unfocused as she tried to stand up, slowly, her voice a whisper on the air, "Rest...I want to go rest..." A nervous tic that hadn't been presen before twitched it's way into her hand as she stood, her fingers rippling in a strange manner, as though she was trying to say something with her hands. Her voice was cool when she spoke, the fire in her eyes cooled to a low broil, "Leo, tell I'll leave you to tell Narym how the woodsman tried to chop down my tree...I'm off to bed for a quick sleep."
The voice that had never stopped whispering in her ear urged her to leave the room, and she couldn't resist it's sibilant words. It was hoping that the story Leo would tell would give her enough time to deliver the letter to Cody. Dyona couldn't resist the voice directly, but she was trying to tell them that something was still wrong, her hand twitching as she fought to regain control of her thoughts...suddenly, the twitching stopped, and a low slick smile slipped over her face. "Then we can talk about my last suggestion, yes love?" She perched uncertainly on her feet, her eyes again burning unnervingly as she started slowly towards the door...

" Ah er yes, I mean no er....um, I'll escort you to your room Dyona, you do not appear steady on your feet," Leo stuttered. He watched her twitching hand with alarm. He reached out to help her to her feet, swapping concerned looks with Narym. He shrugged and shook his head, conveying to his mother he had no idea what was going on. She is acting strangely mother! The look she sent him back said no kidding!

Narym frowned. Dyona was certainly not her usual self. Even accounting for the trauma she had just been thru, she was behaving oddly. The searing looks she kept giving Leo were embarrassing and she was behaving as tho Narym wasn't in the room. That was baffling. And hurtful. " Dyona?" she said softly, also looking at her twitching hand. "What ails thee?"

All movement stopped, and Dyona flushed, before she shook her head. She looked around unsteadily, and stopped as the room started to spin, her voice uncertain, "I...I'm not sure Narym..." She looked up uneasily, her eyes flicking between the two, "I...How did I get here?" She looked dizzy, and very unsteady on her feet but her voice was back to normal, "The last thing I...remember..." Dyona focused her thoughts, coming back with pieces of memories, blood and darkness, being airborne, and her tree, a horrid gash in it's side, "Is...my tree? It was damaged, badly. Before that, it's fractured...blood and flying?" She started to sink into a chair beside the door, the whisper a vague shadow of white noise in the background, "What's happened...what have I missed?" As she tried to settle the uneasiness that was flowing through her, she queried, "Can you hear that? I can almost understand it...it's just..." Goosebumps raised on her skin as she asked the question, and she shook her head, her voice subtley changing as she continued speaking, "I'm just tired, Narym. I'll be fine...I just need sleep. Leo, be a dear and let me rest." An imperial tone had entered her voice, one that had never been there before, and she found her feet again, continuing in a sarcastic tone, "After all, my tree was greatly damaged...it will take her time to recover." Dyona didn't catch the reference herself in third person, because although it was her voice, it wasn't her speaking. It was the whisper telling her what to say. Although she knew that something was wrong, she hadn't worked out what it was yet, so she had no way of fighting it off...

Narym could see that there was something very wrong, but she had no idea if it would help things by pushing it. She shook her head at Leo. Leave her for the time being. " Yes Dyona, you go and rest. I'll just talk to Leo and then I'll pop in and make sure you're alright in a little while. Ok?" She watched with concern as the elf made her way unsteadily out of the clinic. She turned to Leo and listened patiently as he told her all that had happened. She shook her head. " This is all a bit beyond my experience, Leo," she sighed. " It's almost as if she's someone else. For a moment there, we had our friend back and then.........then we lost her." She reached out and patted him on the arm. " It's probably just the effects of changing too soon and what happened to her tree. But I will go and check on her, to make sure. You, in the meantime, need to take the letter to Kaden and Cass. " She held up her hand to stop him protesting. " Don't worry about her Leo, I'll take care of her." She pushed him out of the door in front of her. " Off you go. I'll look in on her and then catch you up." She sighed again as she watched her son walk away towards Cass's suite and then winced. Now it was Leo's turn to interrupt the reunion!

Dyona slipped out of the clinic, her steps slow and unsteady as she made her way towards her room. It wasn't until she was down the hallway, and out of sight that she turned, and took a hallway that didn't lead to her room. Her pace picked up speed, her steps suddenly sure of themselves, though she was blindly following a path that was set out before her. Only one thought was on her mind, find Cody, read him the letter, and do it without anyone catching her. It was imperative that everything happened the way the whisper in her ear said it would...if it didn't, she wouldn't be of further use, and it desperately wanted her to be of further use....her true voice effectively muffled for the time being, Dyona walked down the hall with a purpose...

Narym made her way slowly to Dyona's room, stopping off in the kitchen, to give the elf time to get ready for bed. Then after a few minutes, she was outside her door, gently tapping. " Dyona?" she called softly. There was no answer. Narym opened the door softly, but the room was in darkness. " Dyona?" Still no answer. She must be asleep, she thought and closed the door quietly, deciding not to disturb her. Which is what I should be! Trusting that Leo had given the letter meant for Cody to Cass and Kaden, Narym slipped into her own room and after a hurried shower, fell into bed, her hair still wet. In moments she was asleep.
